Kitchen Prep Lead

Job Description:

Part-Time - Starts at $17/hour

As a kitchen prep lead, you will be an essential part of our team in helping us prep the magic behind the scenes. Your primary responsibility will be to produce ice creams and sorbets and ensure that we maintain a consistent inventory.

What You Will Do:

  • Complete standard business operation processes such as:

    • Follows healthy/sanitary techniques and adheres to designated preparation methods to ensure all menu items are consistently produced.

    • Successfully and consistently complete all processes surrounding sanitation and organization of the kitchen, coolers, and all storage areas per Department of Health requirements.

  • Produce all ice cream and sorbet.

    • Pasteurizing and churning our ice cream bases

  • Manage product, ingredient, and packaging inventory.

  • Drive continuous improvement - you have an eye for making processes run more smoothly and efficiently.

  • Following all health code regulations and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen space.

  • Self-starter who takes initiative, easily follows directions, and values providing and giving feedback.

  • Follow Solo Scoops established safety, grooming, uniform, and employee conduct standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Food handlers certification, or willingness to obtain one.

  • Complete inventory tasks, as well as receive and arrange delivery from vendors

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Weekday & weekend availability.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to be on your feet for 5+ hours at a time.
